The 52-year-old Cuban uncle Félix Ramón Guirola Cepero built the world’s tallest bicycle by hand, about 7.5 meters high. The first impression of this Guinness World Records tallest bicycle is that it is amazing. At the same time, there will be many doubts, such as how to get on the car, whether there are brakes, how to stop, what to do if you fall from the car, etc.
On the streets of Havana, the capital of Cuba, keeping up with Cepero’s bicycle trend is an impossible and unwise challenge. If you’re in Havana, chances are you’ve seen Guirola Cepero galloping down Havana’s famous seawall on his “high-profile” bike as tourists and locals alike gawk at him. Although Guirola Cepero’s bicycle is not faster than ordinary bicycles, it is better than high. There is no safety equipment on board, and it takes courage to ride it.
Before the red light, Cepero slowly stopped the bicycle by helping the roof of the bus. A few minutes later, Cepero pulled over to a fence. Cepero said that if I can get lighter materials, such as hard aluminum, strong and light carbon fiber pipes, I can ride more unimaginable and amazing bikes.
Cepero started making the tallest bike 37 years ago, when he began his bike reinvention as a teenager in his hometown, Ciego de Ávila, a city in central Cuba.
Cepero said, “The beginning of my obsession with cycling was a coincidence. I saw a tandem bicycle on the national cycling team in my hometown by accident, and it has been out of control since then. That was the first time I saw The tandem bicycle, its appearance broke my understanding of bicycles and opened my mind. Can I also create something new and different? I was immediately attracted by this idea. At that time, the tandem bicycle was already It’s common. I thought, well, I’m going to be a vertical.” He also joked that I could find coconuts while sitting on my bike.
Today, Cepero still rides his bike every day, climbing on a high bike seat, enjoying the thrill of driving to and from Havana and looking at the roofs of cars.
In the past few years, he has continued to increase the height of the bicycle, and finally completed the Guinness World Records for the tallest bicycle.
