The Indians’ love for two-wheelers is immense, and the fact that India has become the world’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers proves this.Millions of Indians prefer two-wheeled vehicles as their ideal means of transportation because they are economical and highly maneuverable.However, another market segment in this vast two-wheeler market is gradually gaining popularity with each passing day.This part is the electric two-wheeler part.
Recently, the revealed that the sales of electric two-wheelers nationwide have increased from 700 per week to more than 5,000 per week.The Ministry believes that this milestone is a transformation of the plan implemented in early June of this year.
After receiving feedback from the industry and users, especially during the  pandemic, the  plan was revised in June and entered the second phase.According to the plan, the government allocated 10,000 crore rupees to stimulate the demand for electric vehicles.The plan aims to support the electrification of public and shared transportation and help build charging infrastructure.
The Indian government is promoting the electrification of the automobile industry to solve the problem of automobile emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.Funding under the  program will subsidize 500,000 electric tricycles, 1 million electric two-wheelers, 55,000 electric passenger cars and 7090 electric buses.
The  stated in its year-end review that “in the 2021 calendar year, a total of 140,000 electric vehicles (119,000 electric two-wheelers, 20,420 electric tricycles, and 580 electric four-wheelers) have been in December 2021. Awarded before the 16th, the award amount under Fame in the 11th phase is about  5 billion. So far, Fame II has incentivized 185,000 electric vehicles,”
added: “ has also allocated  10 crore to provide charging stations for electric vehicles.  India II plans to carry out in June 2021 based on experience, especially during the pandemic, as well as industry and user feedback. A redesign. The redesign plan aims to accelerate the popularization of electric vehicles by reducing upfront costs.”
The first phase of the  program started on April 1, 2015 and was extended to March 31, 2019.The second phase , which started on April 1, 2019, was originally scheduled to end on March 31, 2022.However, the central government plans to extend its ambitious plan to promote electric vehicles for another two years, until March 31, 2024.
