When riding, there is such a problem that troubles many riders: sometimes even if not tired, but also breathless, feet can not make the strength, why on earth? In fact, this is often caused by the way you breathe. So what’s the right way to breathe? Should you breathe through your mouth or through your nose?

In general, the above mentioned conditions are usually caused by breathing oxygen supply is not enough, so that the oxygen consumption of the muscles can not be replenished in time. Whether to breathe through your mouth or through your nose depends on a case-by-case basis.

The following will be divided into three aspects:

(1)Before riding: inhaling through nose and exhaling through mouth

Before setting out, you should adjust your breathing by inhaling and exhaling through your nose to make your body adapt to the pace of exercise in advance.

(2)Riding flat: Abdominal breathing

When you start cycling, your body uses more oxygen, so you can take in more air by abdominal breathing, which increases oxygen intake.

(3)When climbing a hill: suck quickly vomit

It takes more energy to climb a hill than it does to ride flat, so it requires more oxygen to power the muscles. At this point, although abdominal breathing takes in a large amount of oxygen, such a slow breathing rhythm cannot meet the demand, so it is necessary to change the way of breathing.

Pay attention to this process, whether in riding or down the cart, must not breathe in with your mouth, otherwise it will affect your health. On the one hand, although breathing through the mouth takes in a large amount of oxygen, it is easy to breathe in bugs and other dirt, and breathing in cold air often causes cough and even diarrhea, which greatly affects the cycling experience. The nose, on the other hand, has a built-in ability to filter air, and as it passes through, it becomes warm and moist. By contrast, inhaling through your nose is more beneficial to your body.
